中井克巳／Nakai Katsumi

中井克巳は日本の画家です。

1927年、大阪府に生まれた中井は1953年から1959年まで独立美術展に出品し、1956年からは大阪を中心に個展を開き始めます。また、1958年に結成された前衛美術グループ「鉄鶏会」に初期メンバーとして参加し、1968年に解散するまで、関西の若手作家たちとともに独自の抽象表現を模索していきました。1964年には1年間の予定で世界一周の旅に出ますが、その翌年以降はミラノを拠点としてヨーロッパ各地で活動を展開し、プレミオピアツェッタ展（1等賞）やミラノトリエンナーレ展（銀賞）で受賞するなど国際的にも注目を受けました。

彼の代表作には、鮮やかに彩色されたベニヤ板などを、シャープで独特な形に裁断して蝶つがいによって継ぎ、開閉できるようにしたものがあります。このシリーズは、様々なバリエーションで制作されています。

Katsumi Nakai is a Japanese painter.

Born in 1927 in Osaka Prefecture, Nakai participated in the Independent Art Exhibition from 1953 to 1959 and began holding solo exhibitions mainly in Osaka from 1956. In addition, he was an initial member of the avant-garde art group “Tekkeikai”, which was established in 1958. He continued to explore his unique abstract expression along with young artists from the Kansai region until the group disbanded in 1968. In 1964, he planned to travel around the world for a year, but from the following year onward, he based his activities in Milan and worked throughout Europe, receiving international attention by winning awards at the Premio Piazzetta International Exhibition (1st Prize) and the Milan Triennale International Exhibition (Silver prize).

One of his representative works is a series of brightly colored plywood and other materials cut into sharp, distinctive shapes and joined by hinges so that they can be opened and closed. This series has been produced in many variations.
